Just back from a lovely family holiday in Cornwall. We stayed in a National Trust Cottage in Port Quin which has the most amazing sea and coastal views… my favourite place in the world. The kitchen had been painted in Oval Room Blue from Farrow & Ball which with the lovely Cornish light just looked beautiful. Trying to figure what I can paint at ‘Home’ in this lovely blue colour. Farrow & Ball paints really are the best colours…
Look at my sweetpeas in my garden… I am so proud of them! I grew them from seed on my studio windowsill and look at them now – an explosion of lovelyness in every pastel hue! They are the ‘Old Fashioned’ sweet peas which have the most gorgeous scent and are my perfect ‘Country Cottage’ summer flower. They look lovely in old glass vases around the home.
I have 3 raised beds in my garden which I just love – I just chuck the seeds in and hope for the best (a green house is on my wish list!) and it has been brilliant this summer. We have had peas, sugar snap peas, green and purple beans, various types of runner beans, beetroot, radishes, salad leaves, strawberries, raspberries, sungold tomatoes, courgettes, spring onions and cut flowers for the cottage like sunflowers, sweet peas and cosmos. Amazing what you can grow yourself…

I love these metal ‘Home’ hooks in cream, and they have been very popular. I photographed them on my office wall with a lovely Farrow and Ball blue/grey paint as a background. They look so pretty. I want one too!
This is my favourite fabric at the moment with vintage style coastal inspired print design of beach huts and sail boats in blue and off white. I sell this 100% cotton fabric (printed in England), by the metre and it can be used all around the home for cushions, curtains, blinds, tablecloths etc. A lovely local lady has made a fantastic new cover in the fabric for an old chair of mine. Doesn’t it look great…very pleased!
My next project is to make and sell cushions in this fabric and other lovely country inspired designs. Watch this space. x
I love these little spotty buckets and they have just come back into stock on my shop on NotOnTheHighStreet. They look great with tea lights in them, or really sweet with little flowers in for table decoration. Also great filled with sweets for a cute alternative for a party bag with a personalised name tag. So many possibilities, available in red, pale pink and pale blue spot.
I love these owl cushions, with their big button eyes and lovely vintage style prints and applique detailing. Great for kids rooms or for growns ups too!
